BruxZir Solid Zirconia

Picture
BruxZir® Solid Zirconia is a monolithic zirconia crown, bridge, screw-retained implant crown, inlay or onlay with no porcelain overlay. First launched as being "More Brawn Than Beauty," the material was originally intended to provide a durable, more esthetic alternative to posterior metal occlusal PFMs or cast gold restorations for demanding situations like bruxers, implant restorations and areas with limited occlusal space. However, recent improvements to the crown’s esthetics make it a viable anterior option for bruxers and grinders as well.

Benefits
  • Ideal for bruxers & grinders who have destroyed other restorations
  • An esthetic alternative to posterior PFMs with metal occlusals and full-cast crowns
  • Made with biocompatible medical-grade zirconia
  • Monolithic material makes the restoration completely chip-proof
  • Fabricated using CAD/CAM technology for consistent fit

IPS E.MAX

Picture
IPS e.max® is made of monolithic lithium disilicate ceramic and delivers outstanding esthetics and precision fit. An affordable alternative to PFMs and zirconia-based restorations.Prescribe IPS e.max to achieve optimal esthetics, virtually perfect contacts and occlusion, and impressive strength. Its unique lithium disilicate ceramic provides flexural strength of 360-400 MPa, making it the ideal high-strength solution for single-unit anterior or posterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, screw-retained implant crowns, 3-unit anterior bridges or restorations with minimum preparation dimensions.

Conventionally cement using resin ionomer cements or bond for maximum retention on nonretentive preparations. Lithium disilicate ceramic is biocompatible and provides more than double the flexural strength of IPS Empress® Esthetic.

PFM (Porcelain Fused to Metal)

The porcelain fused to metal crown has been the standard in restorative dentistry for decades.  The predictability and reliability of PFM crowns have allowed them to withstand the tests of both time and technology.   At Professional Dental Ceramics, all of our crowns are made in-house.  Nothing is outsourced overseas.  All Michigan made!

Benefits
  • Tried and true.
  • Strength and durability.
  • Good for large-span bridges.
  • Precision attachments.
Types of alloys
The metal substructure of a PFM can be made out of any one of a number of dental alloys.
  • High noble – Precious. These alloys have over 60% gold, platinum and/or palladium content. High noble metal is one of the easiest alloys to adjust. Yellow gold high noble metal offers the best esthetics over any other PFM restoration. We offer PFM crowns in both yellow and white gold high noble restorations.
  • Noble alloys – Semiprecious. These alloys have over 25% noble metal (gold, platinum, palladium) content. Noble metal crowns offer a more hypoallergenic restoration over base metal crowns at a more affordable cost over high noble crowns.
  • Base – Nonprecious. Contains less than 25% noble metal. Base metal alloys are considered to be the most economical PFM restoration.
